Winona-Ryder

Winona Ryder is the professionally-known name given to Winona Laura Hoowitz. She was born in Winona Minnesota. Parents named her Winona after her home town. Michel Horowitz' father was editor and author and editor, as was Cynthia Palmer and her mother. Ryder's father and mother are both Jewish. Ryder believes herself to being Jewish. Ryder is the youngest sister of Uria who is half-sister to Jubal & Sunyata. Ryder as well as her entire family relocated to Mendocino County in California in the year 2000, when Ryder was seven. The family lived in a place without electric power. Ryder read a lot because of the lack of television. Ryder aged 12 was enrolled in the American Conservatory Theatre for acting classes in 1983. Her first role was a success on the big screen in 1986, at the age of 15 old. Ryder experienced bullying at high school. Her thought was that by becoming an actor, her bullying was going to be corrected. However, it didn't come pass. She continued to pursue her dreams. Her breakthrough was in 1988 when she appeared in Tim Burton's Beetlejuice. Ryder was later cast in numerous roles that were successful. Ryder was nominated twice for Academy Awards one for her role on The Age of Innocence (1993).
